Hiking Mountains and Admiring Beauty

i am currently in gatlinburg with my father and sister. dad has his yearly work meetings/convention that he attends and luckily laura and i were able to join to take a mini vacation. tomorrow laura and i are planning on hiking to Grotto Falls in the national park which should b a fairly simple hike, only totally around 3 miles roundtrip. then we were planning on goin on a zipline tour but we lookd up the prices and they seem to be just a bit outta our price range esp with school coming up. so we are goin to hav to discuss wat we r gonna do instead tomorrow since she and dad have been asleep for quite some time already. We did get to go play mini golf tonight though which was a lot of fun. i won of course hahaha!

well quite a bit has occurred over this lat week. i went on the youth and college ministry's intents hiking/tubing trip this last weekend which was amazing! we got to townsend friday after and went and tubed the river that flowed behind our campsite. and definately the highlight of that trip would have to be a tie between finding an awesome rope swing and stephanie white popping her tube while going down the river! It was hilarious! the next day we drove out to cades cove to begin our long trek to rocky top. this hike was without a doubt the hardest hike i have done! it was relentlessly steep and was like climbing stairs for about 6.5 miles! i was able to look up the difficulty today online and it was considered to be one of the top 5 most difficult trails in the smokeys. It was difficult but more than worth it esp when we got to rocky top and saw the incredible view and got to sing along with taylor reeves as he played 'rocky top' on his mandelin! Also there were many spiritual lessons that could be derived from this hike which was point out by laura to me. For me I just find it spiritual to be able to get away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life and spend a little time in God's creation and just admiring it. After all he did make all of these wonderful things for our pleasure, and i whole-heartedly believe that when he sees us enjoying the things he put on this earth for us, then that is what gives him pleasure!

Though i thoroughly enjoyed my time on the hiking trip, it is not the highlight of my week. The highlight is, without a doubt, that i am now officially dating hannah! we have been going on dates for a few weeks and i believed that we needed to sit down with each other to discuss and make decisions for what we wanted for our future. so we did and it was one of the best discussions ive had in my life. im not gonna go into all the details but i am so excited for us and thanking God for this great blessing!
